Update Sunday 4th May 2025

Things are really starting to come together here at Fyre and Wylde! Right now, we’re deep in the final bits of setting everything up — we’re working through our woodland management plan, finishing off our full business plan, getting all the official registration paperwork sorted, and putting together some grant bids to help us fund the next exciting steps.

We’re right at the last few hurdles before we can finally open the gates and start welcoming people into the woods — and honestly, we can’t wait to finally share it all with you. It’s taken a lot of careful planning and behind-the-scenes work, but it’s all about making sure we can offer something really special, and sustainable, for the long term.

While we’re tying up these last pieces, there are still loads of ways you can get involved and help us build this from the ground up. If you’d like to find out more about how you can support us (and be part of the story from the very beginning), head over to our Support Us page — we’d love to have you along for the journey!

Volunteering

Volunteers are the beating heart of Fyre and Wylde. As we grow, there will be many opportunities to get involved. Whether you’re looking to get your hands dirty in the woods, support our community outreach, or help behind the scenes.

We understand the crucial role volunteers play, not only in supporting the practical work that keeps the woodland thriving, but in helping to shape the spirit and future of our whole community. Giving your time and energy is an incredible gift, and we also believe that volunteering should feel fulfilling, meaningful, and full of purpose. It’s a chance to learn, connect, share skills, and be part of something much bigger.

In the near future, we’ll be welcoming volunteers to help with a wide range of activities, including:

🌿 Woodland management and conservation work
🌿 Biodiversity monitoring and habitat care
🌿 Gardening and food production projects
🌿 Social media, marketing, and online communications
🌿 Facilitating workshops, courses, and community sessions
🌿 Fundraising and helping to secure vital support for our work

Whether you want to spend time outdoors, share a passion, develop new skills, or help us spread the word, there will be a place for you at Fyre and Wylde. Volunteers will be central to creating a thriving, sustainable space where people and nature can grow together.

If you’d like to be part of the journey, we’d love to hear from you. Check out our current opportunities and register as a volunteer — and we’ll be in touch soon.

If you’re interested in getting involved and helping us care for Fowler’s Hill Wood, you can register to be a volunteer here.

Woodland Seasons and Updates

We’ll also be sharing regular seasonal updates from the woodland — what to look out for, changes in the wildlife, new planting projects, habitat improvements, and the natural cycles that make our space so special.

Whether you’re joining us for a session, volunteering, or just following along with our woodland’s journey through the seasons, we’d love for you to be part of our growing community.

Stay wylde, stay connected and we hope to see you in the woods soon!
